I picked up and scanned a book yesterday about the 1995 CART IndyCar season. It was written that same year, and two particular factoids in the "constructors" section caught my eye. As of 1995: (1) Penske had been building Indy car chassis for twenty years from their base in England, and (2) Lola Cars had already built over 300 Indy car chassis for their many customers.
Where are they now? It seems to me like vintage-racing of Indy cars ought to be far more popular than it is... What am I missing?
Curtis, there is an association for vintage Indy and Champ cars running around the country. I saw information on one of their meets at the track in Milwaukee sometime last year and got some information. Check out their web site for future events. http://champindycar.com/
