Title: Buick V6 ?
Post by: roverman on August 24, 2010, 04:05:58 PM
I know this is a V8 forum, but it is a close cousin of the Rover.  Anybody race these? I'm building a stage II, primarily for road course use. I would like converse on various builds. Thanks, roverman.

OK Tony, I think your teasin me now. Can you say salivatate ? lol.Actually, my manifold is somewhat "similar" to one Tony posted,(short ram, I.R. with V floor in plenum). It has changeble top , of which I plan to  mount TB. and use port injection, possibly E85. Pieces are coming together, production 4.1L block with "halo" girdle, forged 3.625" evenfire crank,H beams,Weaver 4 stage dry sump, 3.976"pistons?,approx 272",13/1 ish.,head flow 340 cfm@ .600" ?  I could sure use some sound advice on efi. Thanks, roverman.

Yes, it has a "goofy" crank and .120" rod off-set in bore, and still  they hold about 1,200 hp ! Go figure.... Crank checks-out good, #4340, nitrided and up to.0001" out of round. Reported to support up to 750 hp/8 k rpm. Scat 900hp(doubt-it) H-beam rods. I'll need sturdy, full skirt pistons, with 2.85" long taper walled pins, to handle the bending moments.I look forward to the "exciting" moments, roverman.
