Title: "proper" sunbeam alpines for sale
Post by: wpotter on March 08, 2010, 06:30:56 PM
Hello, after completing the Tiger & the V8 Alpine car covered in the photo album of this site,  I ready to part w/  two more 1954 Sunbeam Alpines that I have for sale. Both cars are complete but need complete restoration. One is rust free & the other has minor rust in the spare tire well. . I am located in the middle of Ohio and with 3 other Sunbeams, 1 Tiger, I V8 Alpine and one low mileage original, I am ready to give someone else a chance to mold their vision of these cars.If any interest, email me @wpotter9@woh.rr.com & I will send pics.

Incidentally, we've just uploaded more photos of Wilfred's Alpine project to the gallery. Check it out:

It's a truly striking automobile, isn't it!

As a followup, if one were to install a turbo 4 cyl & 5 spd from a T-bird, I dont think that any cutting has to be done to install it. Done this way, other than wiring the injection, it would seem to be a simple bolt in. The turbo 4's are good for 300 to 400 hp w/o too much effort.8.8 rear w trac loc, alum drive shaft, This would have been the way I would have done the next Alpine project, but before I did another one, I'm going to redo the Tiger to correct some things I dont like about the way I did it, so the Alpines go. I still have one other parts Alpine left along w/ 2 turbo, 5 spd setups if I get to it. Just a thought.

Thanks, if you watch the movie "To catch a thief" you will see Grace Kelly driving Cary Grant up the hills of Manaco in the car in stock form. The car is for my wife who has named it "Grace".
