Title: Wheel offset question
Post by: DC Townsend on November 21, 2009, 11:37:27 AM
Found a set of 16" wheels I'm considering. Listed off-set is +25, Moss recommends +22. I'm running Sebring wings front and rear. Is the +3 difference going to matter?

That's less than 1/8" of difference.
You'll find there to be a greater difference from one manufacturer's tire to another within the same size.

I'd do it.

It depends on the width of the wheels.

Carl, wheels are 16 x 7. With the Sebring wings in the back, the track is about 8" wider than stock - all to the outboard. Same in front. Rear axle will be stock width (tube axle width). No changes to stock front suspension width. Should have paid closer attention to the name of the builder who used this size wheel on his conversion. Was in the gallery section but I can't seem to find it now.

Sorry, thought we were comparing same wheel widths.

Bernard, you are correct on assuming the wheel width's are the same. The Moss wheel size chart lists the +2 size as 16 x 7 with a 22mm off set. I'm looking at a set of wheels that are 16 x 7 with a 25mm off set. Bolt pattern and spacing are correct so I'm thinking your observation that there's only 1/8" difference is right on. In any case, for $500 for the set of 4, I might pick them up and try them anyway. If they don't work out, I can always off them on e-bay.
