Last July I was in Elkhart Lake, WI during the vintage races and saw this mini conversion entered in the concours. The owner/builder was busy talking to the judges and I didn't get a chance to talk to him. I wish I had more information, maybe one of you know of the car. It was really nicely done.

p.s. - I'm not sure, but I think the guy leaning on the tire is Peter Egan. I think he was one of the coucours judges.
What kind if steering shaft joint is that in the photo?
I saw one of those at Triumphest 2009 a few weeks ago on a Tr6 302 conversion.
I was unable to talk with the owner to ask.
It looks very simple and small, good for tight areas.

Love the Mini!!! - We need to figure out how to get these guys to write HIWD articles.
re: u-joint
Apex universal joint... about $99 (http://www.pegasusautoracing.com/productselection.asp?Product=1490)

Not usually recommended for steering... but perfect for the shifter on a rear engined race car.

Thanks Curtis for posting this information!
Here is the photo that caught my eye, showing the Apex joint in a TR4, with a 302 installed that was at Triumphest/VTR 2009.
I wonder how long it will last?
