front fender removal

Looked at a lot of pics,coming up with different results,have a 74 MGB CB roadster,do you need to pull W/S frame to remove front fender,some pics show a notch others an enclosed hole,can't tell with the riveted cover in the jamb.Thanks

? If it's a GT you don't but on the RD the windshield post goes through the fender.

I was thinking it was notched.  Should have been.
