Spurious members know about this, everyone else should too. http://britishcardaydayton.com/
We have our own class and it was the largest class last year. I will be there, who will join me?

Scott Costanzo

Hi Phil,

See you then

Dayton Show is always on my to do list. It is an annual birthday present to me from the Family! Staying at Uncle Al's Friday night. Up and at the Show after breakfast for a great day! I usually head home Saturday night.

Well, it survived West Virginia. ;) And, a 8 hour round trip run to Durham, NC. Using less oil, too. :)

See you in Dayton Carl. Plan to visit W-P USAF Museum on Fri and attend show on Sat. Visit with friends in area also. See you all there!

Dan B

There are several members of the WVBCC who are going over Friday and hitting the museum too. I told Bill Michael to look for you.

kstevusa

Ok Dan, advise him I'll have my red Dallara Mobility Scooter. :-)

Enjoy the museum. I'll be there on August 17-18 with three other guys.

One day is not long enough to take in everything. Choose the "hangar" with your favourite era of warbird to spend most of your time in...and do a "whirlwind" tour of the remainder.

"Hangar 1" in WWI,
"Hangar 2" is WWII,
"Hangar 3" is Cold War era.
"Hangar 4" has only been open about a year and has the Presidential planes, the "Hanoi Taxi", as well as experimental aircraft, etc.

There are still a few planes outside....as well as a replica of a British operations building.

There is an IMAX theatre with several different films running throughout the day. There is a cost for the IMAX, but no cost for the rest of the museum.

Restoration Tours (Memphis Belle, etc) are only available on Fridays....but you need to get vetted. I'm not sure that there is time for that to happen with your arrival in two days.

Don't forget to visit the Wright Flyer in front of the Wright-Patterson AFB gate just down the street. I know the artist that did this (and more).

That is the Air Force Museum in the background.

I worked on the base for 7 years and passed through that gate (and past that sculpture) every day.

If you were to walk in the direction somewhere between the wings and the tail section of the Wright Flyer in the photo above you would end up at Eastwood MetroPark which is where the show is on Saturday. You could walk to it from that gate if you were motivated. :)

Can't wait to see everyone!

Edit: Actually, that isn't the tail section of the Wright Flyer, it's in the front. 😊 Nose section?

My car is ready, so I will be driving it up.

This means I will have to leave the MG-Roadmaster here. If anyone wants it to be at the show we will need a driver.

Jim

A great day with morning temps in the high 50's gradually reaching the mid 70's during the day...272 British cars attended the meet, with the Britiish conversion group , for the 2nd consecutive year, having the highest participation clas...20+ cars was by far the largest class...we even moved up this year to row one with plenty of shade trees for comfort!

David & I enjoyed our visit to the Dayton show. Met up with friends and had great visits and meals. Got the Long Distance award for miles traveled. 425 one-way. Parked with other conversions rather than the JAGUARS. Arrived home around 6:30pm Sunday evening. The Dayton Show ROCKS!
