This years gathering was a Big Success due to the Hard Work and organization of Jim & Dan Blackwood.  Very large number of cars and participants from California, Alberta, Ontario and many different states.  Activities were varied and entertaining.  Most popular activity was the beer drinking and lie swapping in parking lot. The next British  meet is not to be missed, stay tuned in future for more details.   As a side note: Larry Cassler, who purchased my Blue V8 B drove over from eastern shore of Maryland.  I begged the opportunity to drive it again and he obliged.  I "Styled" through the parking lot of the hotel and then confirmed it still could light the rear tires from rolling start. Unknown who enjoyed it more, the audience or myself!  Thanks Larry!  West Virginia was a beautiful place and the mountains were awesome.  REMEMBER, Brit V8 in Townsend in October.  Call Talley Ho for reservations now.

Nice photo of Kelly in his old ride.......big smile on his face.

Should have heard him bark the tires in the parking lot.  I would have video'd it had I known what he was up to.  :)

The tire episode was carefully planned.  I drove down the service road at entrance to hotel and did a Practice prior to entering the parking lot. Did not want any embarrassing slip ups.   Thanks for pic Carl.  AMEN to Family!

Couldn't agree more.  Good to see old friends and make new ones.  It was also (as always) cool to see previous years' "works in progress" beautifully completed.

GREAT place to have the meet.  Nice, well-maintained twisties and lots of stuff to see and do.

Jim and Dan did a fantastic job.  Thanks, guys.

It's been said, but I'll 2nd or 3rd or 4th it, GREAT gathering Jim and Dan.  You guys had everything planned and we had a good relaxed feel which I liked!  I know its a ton of work!

What Kelly's not telling above is he had a really great time driving his car - so much so that when Larry went to start it the next morning it wouldn't run...  Somewhere in one of the turns, Kelly popped the rollover switch from the inertia!  Once reset, old Blue was back in business.

Yes. Awesome job by the Blackwood Brothers (Dan & Jim).  Great venue with wonderful roads & scenery. As always, visiting the "Family" is worth the drive alone.

Glad I put the effort into getting Ol' Red back on the road.  Thoroughly enjoyed the drives.  My apologies to PJ Peterson & wife for that minor sideways maneuver.  :)

I have a newfound love for the backroads of West Virginia.

Thank y'all for the kind words!  It was a joy to host.  Jim and I had as good of a time as anybody!

As I sit at work this afternoon I'm finding myself daydreaming about all the fun we had last week. Back to reality this week.

I'm going to echo Carl on how great it was to catch up with everyone. The people in this group are second to none and are what keep me coming back every year!

Dan and Jim, thanks again for all work you did to make this meet such a success! I'd happily do the exact same thing all over again! ☺

I can't say enough about how well Dan and Jim did in setting this up.  For a First Timer, it was a wonderful experience.
To Carl, no problem now that I know your skill set.
Thank you to all of you like Merv and Marilyn, Dan and Jim, Rob, Ralph, the Real PJ and many other who went out of their way to make my Wife and I feel welcome.
Respectfully,
The Other PJ

Jim and Dan:

Many thanks for a great week in WV! Most car club shows have a committee to do all the legwork, so your hard work is much appreciated. Lewisburg is indeed a Cool Little Town.

We made it to most all the activities- great country drives, the Cass Railroad, the Greenbrier Bunker Tour (with lunch at the 18th green), Hawk's Nest, Lost World Caverns, The Smooth Ambler Distillery, the Greenbrier Valley Brewing Co. and a very good dinner at The Livery on Washington St.

And many thanks to the WV British Car Club for the cookout at Hawk's Nest!

Always a great group of friends and 900 miles with no breakdowns!!

Came closer than you have yet, only because you could run faster!

Sure would be nice if we had a recap on the "Meetings" page!  :)

Dan B

I would have thought Bill Michael's letter would be posted there.

mowog1

There will be something in the MG Driver....but it's important that a recap be posted here as well.

Dan B

I agree.  It seems like it took a long time for anything about the 2016 meet to be posted too.  There is a lot of material on this thread for the newsletter editor to collect, and several pictures on the Country Roads thread.  Calvin also has a newspaper article.

MGBV8

QuoteI would have thought Bill Michael's letter would be posted there.

I thought I read it on this site somewhere?

BlownMGB-V8

I don't think the Organizers of an event should write the Review, that lacks credibility. And the Organizers would be probably the most incredible of anyone there.... Just sayin'

Jim

mowog1

I don't think it lacks credibility for the organizers to submit an article, nor was I asking you do to the write up.

But its absence after two months have passed......well, things get foggy.
