Wow it's been a long time coming but other than a few details we finally showed our Sebring body kit at the British swap meet
in Wheaton Ill., we had the front fenders etc done last year but decided on some changes to the rear fenders and valance, I tried getting everything done before my back surgery but that didn't happen but my mates all helped out to get the display ready, now i've got to go over everything for the V8 meet in Omaha !

So...where the hell was this kit three years ago!

I especially like that front valance. It's just a terrific shape.

It's going to be great to see these parts on some racecars! Their integrity is so superior to what's been available until now.

Dave, do you expect people might buy your rear valance for use in chrome-bumper conversion projects?

Curtis,  I definately want to pursue the rubber bumper valance idea, I need a donor car to perfect it on however, so I'm looking for that, I know the race car fanciers like our aero front valances, but we are working on a n old fashioned (read that purist) style
Sebring front valance , the big difference will be that it will fit our front fenders and have the the same flush appearance, no fasteners etc
visible.
Dave, I hear ya, but  its taken this long to get where we are, you still have one of the best looking Bs ever !
here's some more development pics;

Looks so much better than the original, especially the front. Nice work

I really love the shape of the wheel arches. Makes me think I might have to "upgrade" at some point. Dave, do you take trade ins?

Preform Resources

Cmon Dave you know you're dyin to build another one !!

"Cmon Dave you know you're dyin to build another one !!"

Yeah, it would give me a chance to do all of the things I've thought about while working on the current project. Sigh...

Are "Speedster" headlites an option/lol ??  Nice work ! roverman.

Art, thats a good question, I don't see any reason the headlight covers would'nt work, maybe with a little
heat persuasion ??

I can sympathize with how long it takes to build one off fiberglass parts.  I built the fenders on this B from scratch and conservatively, there is 30 hours per fender just to get them to this point.  The hardest part is getting them to look the same side to side.  The rears are extra thick to add some rigidity to the car, but the fronts are almost see thru thin.  Right after I finished the front, I found a set of good used front flares for $20 at a swap meet.  I bought them and stored them away just in case.  Next time I do something like this, I'll just make them from steel on the wheel. No way it would take as long as it did with the glass.

You'll be getting my order for all 6 parts in Omaha!!  What a beautiful job!!  Flares have been a big worry for me.  I've really never seen any that I really liked - that is until now!!!

Look forward to meeting you in Omaha Dave.

Till then

MrNick

Well, looks like I'll be sending Dave a couple thousand dollars once I start doing body work. Top notch job there.

You really can't go wrong on Dave's body panels. The very finest quality in every single piece I've had the pleasure to look at.

Thanks  you guys,,, here's some pics of Travis Hallum's roadster Sebring project ( I hope he doesn't mind), Travis is the first one to get our new Classic Sebring style valance and the first kit on a roadster, he's gonna run some wide wire wheels on this baby!

Hi David,

This project looks awesome, and close to my heart in various ways!

Did you do anything special to strengthen the rear of the GT body when the GRP wings were installed other than beef up the lay-up?

I want to do something similar with my car (only subtly flared though, so no massive gap to bridge to the wheel wells!) but do not want the back end to go floppy as an EFI V8 will also be going in!

Keep up the great work!
David

David,  as you can see from Travis' car he has fitted our wheel arch system which closes off the rear arches to the fender panel and takes a minimum of sheetmetal  out of the structure, when the inner is bonded in place  it lessens any stiffness lost in cutting into the  structure. There is no difference between roadster and GT fitment of the rear assy only the front fenders (wings) are different from GT  to roadster at the A pillar area.. you could use our wheel arch system even if you are going with narrower flairs.
Also Travis car feature our classic SEBRING style front valance with the brake ducts. If you e-mail me I will send more detail pics of our bits

Can u please pass on where to purchase?

MGBV8

Sadly, Preform Resources is no more. Dave Craddock has retired due to health issues.

Mantell Motorsport purchased the molds for MGB parts from him.  I do not know if Pete is yet producing the parts that you are interested in.

MGBV8

I have only ever seen one, Art & that was on a Costello roadster 25 years ago  at the MG V8 meet in Annapolis, MD.

Years ago, someone was making laser cut reproductions.
