Speed Week at Bonneville is 8/13/11 - 8/19/11.            Maybe some British iron will run there this year?     Anyone know?
Not for the faint at heart it gets hot on the salt.            You stand next to the cars on the start line!      2 or 3 miles down course is where the speed is but they keep you quite aways avay from the track at this point.

Going to try and make it this year,  look for my Brit v8 tshirt   I need a couple more!

If this works it tells you how to classify your car at Bonneville. It's supposed to be short cut.     or Google BonnevilleRacing.com

Looks like some kind of steamliner   e/fms 569 Won it's modified sports class 2010 by John Staiger at 218.432 mph avg

I still don't know what it is?   Help Dave Craddock!

It's a Berkley !! British built cottage industry style car, late 50's early 60's had motorcycle engines in them, of course this car has only the back half of the original body the front  is modified Opel GT. it runs E / fuel (alcohol) modified sports. The
engine is an Aurora Indy car  V-8. the chassis is an extremely rugged tubular space frame it has solid axles front and rear, mostly fiberglass and aluminum body and it is very heavy over 2000 lbs.weight is your friend at Bville, sorta the antithesis of race car building..
John won his class but could not set a record for some reason, SCTA has a lot of funny rules
regarding what makes a record run and they are going back this year to seal the deal !!
