Does anyone know if they still sell those little breathers that are on the one side of the Rover valve cover?  Mine engine is a 1988 and I am planning to use a PCV valve along with using the original style of the little breather (I guess you can call it).  To me it is a tiny little metal straw with a circular disc on top.  Any ideas?  I am getting closer, which is why the questions are getting stranger :).

Michelle, review the article on PCV systems in the last issue of the newsletter, you really can't mix-n-match parts from the American system (PCV valve) with parts from the British system (orifice breather), it has to be one or the other to work properly.

You can cut off the disc and use the stem, slip a short piece of vinyl tube over it to increase the diameter and then fit a common parts store small filter element.

The OEM parts are available from British vendors at a somewhat higher cost.

I thought of doing that but wasn't sure if that would allow too much oil movement.  If that is the best way I don't have a problem doing that.  Did Rover not use a PCV in the late 80's in the other opening?
